VMI is a concept of supply of goods and it means Vendor Managed Inventory. In the case of the VMI system, the delivery is not controlled by the customer, but the vendor management system is taken over by the supplier. The supplier is then solely responsible for the delivery and a constantly existing minimum stock. The Vendor Managed Inventory allows the supplier to use the required infrastructure to complete the tasks. Mainly storage areas are filled, but also tanks and other containers can be managed. The supplier receives the current sales from the stock so that he can efficiently manage stocks. The vendor does not need to worry about inventory issues when it comes to vendor inventory management.
